about xavi
Xavi Nohara is a writer, director, comedian, and ordained minister (check linkedin) currently attending NYU's Tisch School of the Arts.
Xavi grew up moving around the United States, making friends with anyone who would tolerate him forcing them to watch European arthouse musicals against their will. Through it all, his "colorful" ability to tell stories remained one of his most integral identities.
At NYU, Xavi has grown to be an illustrious screenwriter, with polished spec scripts across both film and television. He reigns as the president and founder of NYU's acclaimed sketch comedy troupe "Etch A Sketch," which has performed at the Upright Citizen's Brigade, alongside SNL writers, and in the basement of a Russian bathhouse. While directing his own work is his true passion, he frequently produces, ADs, and UPMs on undergraduate and graduate sets alike.
Outside of school, Xavi has held a number of high-profile internships at companies like Bleecker Street, DOC NYC, 3rd Impression, and many other entertainment providers whose poorly screenshotted logos can be seen below.
He hopes to leave his impact on the silver screen one day, but for now, he can only hope Rainer Werner Fassbinder doesn't find it sacrilegious that he watches his films on a laptop in the Astor Place Dunkin Donuts.
